Fremington Sunday School

This is the former Fremington Sunday School built in the early 1800's. 
Nowadays it is used as a meeting room for the local community as well as for hosting events and exhibitions. It has recently been refurbished and both the building and its facilities in the public area are now available for both able and disabled enjoyment. It may not have a grand and spacious kitchen but the recently installed modern facilities certainly make the coffee\tea and homemade biscuits far more enjoyable. "You are even served with out getting out of your chair" as one visitor has remarked.
As can be seen wheel chair access is available from the street and into the public area of the building. Parking is opposite along the road side and in the lay-by just beyond where this photo was taken.
Fremington Sunday School is situated half way between the villages of Grinton and Reeth. In fact it is 0.4 miles from the centre of Grinton and 0.4 miles from Reeth village green on the same road, the B6270. Certainly not far enough to get lost! As with many buildings in the Dales it does look out onto a rather pleasant view. A pleasant way to spend a warm and sunny summers evening. I do have to say that it does rain here as elsewhere in the UK but with the warm and family atmosphere of these Illustrated Talks accompanied by coffee and homemade biscuits you soon forget about these infrequent wet evenings and walk the speakers subject in 'summer' sunshine.
